ESP Surface Power Transformer
Surface power for electrical submersible pump systems
ESP Surface Power TransformerSurface power for electrical submersible pump systems
Installed between the surface supply or VFD and the downhole ESP motor, the transformer is configured from motor voltage, drive waveform, cable length, line drop and continuous artificial-lift duty.
Surface output is coordinated with the motor and cable so the downhole equipment receives the voltage required by the actual well conditions.

Four capabilities for project configuration
Downhole motor voltage matching
Application: ESP artificial lift
VFD waveform compatibility
Power source: Utility / VFD output
Long-cable voltage-drop review
Output basis: Motor and cable data
Continuous artificial-lift duty
Project inputs: Load, well depth and site conditions
Connect surface power, the cable and the downhole motor
Surface output is coordinated with the motor and cable so the downhole equipment receives the voltage required by the actual well conditions.
For VFD-fed systems, waveform, harmonics, insulation stress, thermal loading and oilfield ambient conditions are reviewed together.
Final configuration is confirmed against the electrical duty, installation interfaces, site environment and project documentation.
